Frequently asked questions

What are the Master Seminars?

A series of small group sessions with professionals in the publishing industry who will work with you to help you be more successful as a writer. There are three facets to success in publishing: Great story, Great craft and Great platform. We help you develop each of these areas so that you can achieve maximum success.

What are the topics?

Currently we have scheduled three topics with proven professionals in the industry: fiction marketing, writing bestselling fiction, and adding depth to your fiction. Future years will bring other topics.

Who are the instructors?

Each event has its own set of speakers.  You can find out more about the speakers by going to the appropriate page above. Chip MacGregor, President of MacGregor Literary, will be hosting each event, and the different seminars will bring in professionals like Jim Rubart (a longtime marketing expert), Susan May Warren (a bestselling author), Susan Meissner (an award-winng novelist), and Lisa Samson (perhaps the most decorated novelist in CBA).

What are the sizes of the groups?

These groups are designed for 10-14 individuals. That allows ample opportunity for one-on-one time between authors and instructors.

Who are the seminars designed for?

From multi-pubbed authors to those who have just contracted their first book, the Master Seminars will offer a cohesive plan to help you develop your writing business. Our desire is for you to be able to successfully achieve your goals as a writer.

What is the cost?

The cost of the workshop is $499. Members of ACFW can
attend for $399. That includes all materials, your classes,
snacks, coffee, and lunch. Also included is a 1 hour small
group breakout with the instructors, where you will
create a customized plan for your writing as well as
receive individual feedback from each instructor on a
series of exercises before and after the event. You will
walk away with a clear plan for developing each facet of
your writing business.

The hosting hotels offer breakfast, so you will only be
responsible for Friday night dinner. Transportation and
lodging are extra.

Where are they held and how often?

These events will be held quarterly at locations in the
heart of the country.

What will I have when I’m done?

You will have a detailed plan with individualized action
steps to develop that area of your business.
